VESTED INTERESTS

The lateral entry scheme is good, but the intentions behind it are suspect. It is likely that the present government is using the scheme to place its loyalists in key positions. If the position of governor can be compromised in Karnataka, why would key positions in the bureaucracy be allowed to stay neutral? The advertised advantages of specialisation, namely fresh blood and increased human resources, will not actually materialise.
