₹1L REWARD FOR INFO ON DOGFIGHT ORGANISERS
CHANDIGARH:THE India chapter of Humane Society International (HSI) on Monday offered a reward of ₹1 lakh to identify people who were planning to organise a dogfight in Faridkot. The invitation for the event was made through posters in Moga and also circulated online on June 15 with an entry fee of ₹500. Animal fights are a punishable offence under the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, 1960.
Based on a complaint by the state veterinary department and the Animal Welfare Board of India (AWBI), an FIR was lodged.
The organisers, whose contact information was displayed on the posters, are absconding.
The reward was declared for any person with information that would lead to the identification, arrest and conviction of the organisers.
