20­yr­old man com­mits sui­cide, girl, kin booked on abet­ment charges

AM­RIT­SAR : Po­lice booked four peo­ple on Satur­day in a sui­cide case of a 20-year-old boy.

The ac­cused are Ga­gan­deep Kaur, her broth­ers Gur­saib Singh and Gur­jant Singh and her cousin Ravi Singh of Khasa vil­lage. The de­ceased who has been iden­ti­fied as Ravi Singh aka Prince was a watch­man in Khasa mar­ket. The de­ceased’s mother Har­jit Kaur filed a com­plaint al­leg­ing abet­ment to sui­cide.

As­sis­tant sub-in­spec­tor (ASI) Narinder Singh of Gharinda po­lice sta­tion said, “Af­ter con­duct­ing the de­ceased’s post­mortem, his body has been handed over to his fam­ily mem­bers.”

Po­lice have reg­is­tered a case un­der Sec­tions 306 (abet­ment of sui­cide), 109 (pun­ish­ment of abet­ment if the act abet­ted is com­mit­ted in con­se­quence and where no ex­press pro­vi­sion is made for its pun­ish­ment) and 34 (acts done by sev­eral per­sons in fur­ther­ance of com­mon in­ten­tion) of the In­dian Pe­nal Code (IPC) .
