IG de­nies any break­through, says in­ves­ti­ga­tions are on

J&K GUV SATYA PAL MA­LIK HAD ON NOVEMBER 5 SAID THE KILLERS OF ANIL PARIHAR AND HIS BROTHER HAVE BEEN IDEN­TI­FIED

JAMMU : Even as Jammu and Kash­mir gov­er­nor Satya Pal Ma­lik on November 5 said that the killers of Bharatiya Janata Party leader Anil Parihar and his brother Ajeet Parihar have been iden­ti­fied and they will be brought be­fore the pub­lic soon, the po­lice on Satur­day said that in­ves­ti­ga­tions were on.

The Parihar broth­ers were shot dead from point blank on November 1 in Kisht­war town while they were re­turn­ing home.

Some un­con­firmed re­ports be­ing at­trib­uted to uniden­ti­fied sources claimed that the polic e were close to crack the case with the iden­ti­fi­ca­tion of two ter­ror­ists from Kul­gam, who stayed in the house of an em­ployee from the con­sumer af­fairs and pub­lic dis­tri­bu­tion depart­ment in the Kisht­war town.in­spec­tor gen­eral of po­lice SDS Jamwal said there was no break­through in the case of blind mur­ders.

“I don’t know who has spread this news. As of now in­ves­ti­ga­tions are on,” he added.

Kisht­war district mag­is­trate An­grez Singh Rana said that there was noth­ing as of now in the case. “The district SSP has not dis­closed any­thing as of now. The town, how­ever, re­mains un­der night cur­few while day cur­few has been lifted,” he added.

Gov­er­nor Satya Pal Ma­lik on November 5 had said the at­tack­ers in­volved in the cold-blooded mur­der stand iden­ti­fied and will be brought be­fore the peo­ple soon.

Un­con­firmed re­ports at­trib­uted to uniden­ti­fied sources claimed that the po­lice have solved the mur­ders and ar­rested four per­sons, in­clud­ing two Kash­mir based ter­ror­ists, a govern­ment em­ployee and a friend of Anil Parihar.

On Fri­day, min­is­ter of state Ji­ten­dra Singh said the home min­istry has made it clear that in case lo­cal rep­re­sen­ta­tives de­sire so, the probe into the killing of the se­nior BJP leader and his brother could be handed over to the Na­tional In­ves­ti­ga­tion Agency.
