Apropos ‘The power gap with China, HT Comment, July 22)’, it is indeed true that till 1988, India was on a par with China in economy. Later, due to the era of coalition governments, India lagged behind. Now, our foreign minister has asked for a successful economic story to make our foreign policy work effectively. This is possible as we are having a single-party majority rule at
