55 QUINTAL POOR QUALITY FRUITS, VEGGIES SEIZED

CHANDIGARH : The Punjab Food and Drug Administration on Thursday carried out a statewide drive and seized 55 quintal substandard vegetables and fruits. PFDA commissioner Kahan Singh Pannu said the seized vegetables and fruits were not found fit for human consumption and were destroyed. “During the drive, the focus was on identifying fruits ripened using unscientific methods and vegetables that are not fit for human consumption,” he said in a statement.
