Public safety in mind, Mohali to webcast I-day function
MOHALI : Taking stock of the arrangements for state-level Independence Day celebrations to be held at Government College in Phase 6, deputy commissioner Girish Dayalan said that owing to the spike in Covid-19 cases, the celebrations would be restricted to hoisting the national flag followed by the address by the chief minister.
He said that in the interest of public safety, no large congregations would be held on the occasion and no cultural programmes would be organised.
The DC added that the administration will be holding webcasting and Facebook live of the Independence Day celebrations in Mohali.
‘JOIN LIVE CELEBRATIONS’
He appealed to the public to join the celebrations live through Facebook, Twitter, Youtube and Instagram at https://www.facebook.com/punjabgovtindia/

Despite Covid-19, the celebrations would be organised in a befitting manner and with full
zeal, said he.
Adhering to safety protocols in wake of the Covid pandemic and a rise in cases, complete sanitisation of the venue would be ensured with only the essential staff on duty, DC said.
