NOW, MOHALI EATERIES TO SHUT BY 8:30PM

MOHALI: New rules will kick in from Tuesday restrictin­g timings of restaurant­s, hotels and other hospitalit­y units as well as restaurant­s/hotels within shopping malls and liquor vends till 8.30pm and shops and shopping malls till 8pm instead of 9pm due to the Covid-19 outbreak. District magistrate Girish Dayalan said on Monday that the night curfew hours will be from 9pm to 5am, with movement of all non-essential activities within the municipal limits the city restricted.

Meanwhile, Punjab Engineerin­g College has restricted entry to its administra­tion block after a faculty member tested positive for Covid-19. The new cases are spread across the urban and rural pockets of the UT.

RTA, FOUR STAFFERS TEST +VE IN MOHALI

Mohali district, too, registered its steepest single-day spike of 102 cases on Monday.

Regional transport authority (RTA) Sukhwinder Kumar along with four employees of his office and one field employee of the tehbazari wing of the Mohali municipal corporatio­n are among those who tested positive, taking the total number of infections in the district past 1,900.
