Crawley hits maiden ton, steadies England on Day 1

-

SOUTHAMPTON: Zak Crawley’s massive 171 not out and his unbeaten 205-run stand for the fifth wicket with Jos Buttler (87*) helped England recover from 127/4 to a comfortable 332/4 at stumps on Day 1 of the third Test against Pakistan on Friday. England lead the threetest series 1-0. Crawley, 97 not out at tea, took two down to fine leg off Mohd Abbas before an offside glide off the paceman saw him to a 171-ball ton, including 11 fours. This was his fourth first-class ton of the 22-year-old right-hander’s career and it came under pressure as Pakistan looked to expose England’s lower order early in the Test.
