Out on parole, man shot dead in Pehowa

KARNAL: A 30-year-old man was shot dead by unidentified assailants in Pehowa of Kurukshetra district in Haryana, police said on Sunday.

The police said the deceased has been identified as Monu Kumar of Kakrali village. He was out on Parole recently. The police said that preliminary investigations reveal that the firing took place due to personal enmity between two groups.

The incident took place at around 300m away from the police post. Pehowa deputy superintendent of police (DSP) Gurmail Singh said that the incident took place at around 4 pm and further investigation into the matter is ongoing.

He said that Monu, who was out on parole, was already facing several criminal cases. The body has been sent for autopsy.
