55 SOLID WASTE PLANTS TO COME UP IN JALANDHAR
JALANDHAR: To ensure clean and pollution -free rural areas, the district administration is set to build 55 solid waste management plants across Jalandhar in the current financial year. Five plants will be set up in each of the 11 blocks. ADC (development) Vishesh Sarangal said separate pits will be built under the project where dry and wet waste will be dumped by the waste-collecting teams. To ensure waste segregation, blue and green dustbins will be provided to residents. He said Rs 3.18 lakh are being spent on construction of each plant.
