55 SOLID WASTE PLANTS TO COME UP IN JALANDHAR

JALANDHAR: To en­sure clean and pol­lu­tion -free ru­ral ar­eas, the district ad­min­is­tra­tion is set to build 55 solid waste man­age­ment plants across Jalandhar in the cur­rent fi­nan­cial year. Five plants will be set up in each of the 11 blocks. ADC (de­vel­op­ment) Vishesh Saran­gal said sep­a­rate pits will be built un­der the pro­ject where dry and wet waste will be dumped by the waste-col­lect­ing teams. To en­sure waste seg­re­ga­tion, blue and green dust­bins will be pro­vided to res­i­dents. He said Rs 3.18 lakh are be­ing spent on con­struc­tion of each plant.
