ISB doubles scholarships for 2013 batch to crore
The Indian School of Business (ISB) has doubled its scholarships from R4 crore to R8 crore for the 2013 batch. Through this increased outlay, one in every seven students studying at the school will receive scholarships of 25-50% of the total tuition fee.
The scholarships will be awarded on both merit and financial need basis.
Ignou, IL&FS join hands for skills programme
IL&FS Education has inked a pact with the New Delhibased Indira Gandhi National Open University (Ignou) to bring a special education and skills programme that trains an individual in different aspects of the job. This is aimed at narrowing down the huge talent deficit in the education sector.
Known as Ignou-IL&FS Education, it has introduced two trainers’ training programmes that will qualify an individual to work in government and non-government sectors. The group has launched certification courses that will cater to the requirement in national egovernance programmes and the social sector.
VN Rajasekharan Pillai, vice chancellor of Ignou, said: “These professional programmes will be valuable for the different sectors that will boost employment prospects for candidates even at the post graduate level.”
The programmes involve intensive classroom teaching.
