God wanted fashion pasha Ravi Bajaj to be a success… From the time he wore a self-designed shirt made out of furnishing fabric to a party and everyone went “gaga over it” The exact moment when you realised this was where you wanted to be? When I wore a shirt made from furnishing fabric and every one went gaga over it at a party! I was 16 years old then! Influences Indian film stars from the ’60s, and anybody who had/has personal style! Did the family need to be convinced (that you wanted to join the fashion world)? Fortunately my family know that I was not meant for academics. And even though we have a family business I knew that was not meant for me. So it did not take too much persuasion. Luckily for me, my elder brother did all the spadework and made certain that I had a chance to do whatever I wished! Biggest high? Ah! My highs come from very simple plea being able to hold a tune to relishing a great meal! The biggest goof-up? I am not prone to goof-ups! I am too conscious a person for that! The best thing about the work you do? It allows me to express myself (to an extent) and brings instant gratification! Today I conceive an outfit and in a few days it’s ready to be worn! The perks of being a big name in the exclusive world of fashion Well...good service at restaurants ...ha ha! You have been a success because God wanted me to be... How big a role did education play in shaping you as an individual and a designer ? Quite a bit, since fashion is an applied art, technical knowledge is a must! God to you is? Everything on earth and nothing in the sky! Mantras for aspiring designers? Think before you leap! And once you have leap, don't bother thinking!
