Shahid’s sleepless nights for a shoot

It’s well acknowledged that Shahid Kapoor is a powerful actor. A few days ago, he performed with aplomb for an intense scene in his film Padmavati. But for the same scene, Shahid went through a couple of sleepless nights.

An insider says, “Before flying off for an awards function to New York (United States), Shahid had a major, intense scene to shoot. He prepped hard for it, so much so that it kept him awake for almost two straight nights after shooting throughout the day. But he didn’t mind the preparation, in order to deliver the scene perfectly.”

Apparently, for the same elaborate scene, Shahid received a standing ovation from the unit, once the shoot was done. “He had earlier received similar ovation on the first few days of his shooting [for Padmavati]. Shahid is happy that he has impressed the crew members with his craft,” says the insider.

It is believed that since Shahid, who plays the character of Raja Rawal Ratan Singh (the husband to Deepika Padukone’s queen), is leaving no stone unturned to make his acting perfect. “Even Sanjay sir (filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali) is impressed with Shahid’s professionalism and dedication,” says the insider.
