Taking Indian jewels to Paris Fashion Week
Zoya, the exquisite diamond boutique from the House of Tata, presented its latest collection, Musée Du Luxe, in collaboration with eminent fashion designer Manish Arora at his 10th anniversary presentation at Paris Fashion Week. The partnership was born out of a complementary design philosophy and the contemporary, international outlook shared by both brands.
The decision to debut at fashion’s biggest showcase, Paris Fashion Week, follows the increasing interest in the brand from international clients. Amanpreet Ahluwalia, business head, Zoya, says, “The partnership with Manish Arora mirrors the ability of both brands to span refined, understated luxury as well as eclectic designs. Manish has been a great fashion ambassador for India, and given the increasing interest in Zoya internationally, we are happy to make our international debut with him at Paris.”
The design inspiration of Zoya is also drawn from its world-wide travels. Speaking about the brand, Ahluwalia adds, “Zoya defines its approach to luxury with an unwavering commitment to impeccable craftsmanship, distinguished design and an unmatched retail experience.” The makers say that each handcrafted collection presented by Zoya takes close to a year to create, and is akin to a work of art, designed to be as loved and cherished as the woman who wears it.
Adding opulence and sparkle to Manish Arora’s Paris Fashion Week collection themed — Ready to Love, was Zoya’s Musée Du Luxe, a collection inspired by the city’s sublime architecture, rich culture and inherent joie de vivre.
Engraved padlocks on Pont des Arts Bridge inspire a layered statement necklace with promises of love. Brilliantly cut Zambian emeralds and white diamonds are rhythmically set on fluid gold tubes. The selection at Manish’s show also included hand-painted enamel earrings from Banaras that were inspired by lotus flowers and the waves on the Ganges, embellished with diamonds, and stunning necklaces from Zoya’s Krsna collection with peacock feather motifs along with chokers inspired by the tiaras of the Romanov era. The show presented cuffs, earrings, rings and bracelets from many of Zoya’s classic collections like Awadh and Jewels of the Crown.
Zoya continues to grow from strength to strength. This Diwali, Zoya will be opening a new store at Palladium in Mumbai and launching ‘Whispers from the Valley’, an all-new collection, inspired by Kashmir.
