Neeraj Pandey documents behind the scenes of his new film in a book
Diljit Dosanjh, who stars with big names from Bollywood in his next film, talks about his experience and criteria for selecting roles
Ahead of the release of Aiyaary, filmmaker Neeraj Pandey has unveiled a behind-the-scenes testimony of the on set action of the film. While it’s common for films to release behindthe-scene footage from the set, Pandey has made public a written account from the sets of the team.
The National Awardwinning director launched the book titled Aiyaary: The Journey along with the film’s actors Manoj Bajpayee, Sidharth Malhotra and Rakul Preet Singh in Delhi on February 12. Speaking about the book, Pandey says, “It was something we try to do with all our productions. The book is our way of preserving the memories that we make while filming a project.”
The helmer of acclaimed films like A Wednesday (2008), Special 26 (2013), Baby (2015), Pandey has delivered some of the most celebrated films of Indian Cinema and his films are known to be inspired by real incidents. Taking forward his methodology of filmmaking in Aiyaary, Pandey has not only shot in real army locations of Kashmir, India Gate in Delhi as well as the London Bridge, but has also got the Army uniforms from authentic Army suppliers.
Also starring Naseerudin Shah and Anupam Kher, the film produced by Reliance Entertainment, PEN Studios & Friday Filmworks is set to release on February 16.
