Cultural, culinary charm of the Pacific
Guests donning garlands and floral headgear, delectable fare, and warm hospitality by Pacific nations — this recent event in the Capital was a sensory treat.
“The Pacific is a long way off from here. Thus, tonight was intended to highlight the food, culture, beverages and the diversity of the region,” said Joanna Kempkers, high commissioner of New Zealand to India.
As for the highlights from the buffet spread, there was fresh yellow fin tuna and prawns from Papua New Guinea, Kava from Fiji, Australian lamb, and food cooked in a traditional earth oven in Kempkers’s back garden.
