5.35 lakh UP teachers to get 7th pay commission benefits

After a long wait, about 5.35 lakh teachers at government-run primary and upper primary schools will start getting salaries as per the recommendations of the 7th pay commission with effect from April. Depending on their pay scale, the teachers at about 1.60 lakh schools will get salary hikes which will range between ₹5,733 and ₹13,674. The arrears from January 2016 to April 2017 will be paid in two instalments in 2017-18 and 2018-19.
