Smart card for CNG con­sumers in Delhi, Noida, Gzb

Min­is­ter of Pe­tro­leum and Nat­u­ral Gas Dhar­men­dra Prad­han launched ‘pre­paid smart card’ for CNG con­sumers on Wed­nes­day, which can be used at all gas sta­tions in Delhi, Noida, Greater Noida, and Ghazi­abad.

This is the first time that a pre­paid card pro­gramme is be­ing started in the gas dis­tri­bu­tion sec­tor in the coun­try.

Speaking at launch, the min­is­ter said the ini­tia­tive is part of the Dig­i­tal In­dia Cam­paign en­vis­aged by the Prime Min­is­ter Naren­dra Modi to take the coun­try for­ward with the help of tech­nol­ogy.

“The min­istry is mak­ing ev­ery ef­fort to use tech­nol­ogy and meth­ods to pro­vide time sav­ing and eas­ily ac­ces­si­ble cus­tomer ser­vice to con­sumers. The gov­ern­ment is firm in its com­mit­ment to pro­vide clean CNG and PNG for cook­ing and trans­port at cus­tomer’s con­ve­nience to pro­mote Gas Based Econ­omy,” Prad­han said. The min­is­ter distributed smart cards to some of the fleet as well as re­tail cus­tomers of IGL.
