STARTING INSPIRED, AND HOW
Designers celebrated hope in mountains, megalopolises, even underwater, and found beauty in being broken, on Day 1
The Day 1 of the Lotus Make-Up India Fashion Week SS’19 in association with Nexa , partnered with Hindustan Times, kick-started with a spectacle of a show by designer Aneeth Arora of Pero, on Wednesday. The first day of the four-day fashion gala, being held at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, began with a splash of colour and came to a glorious end with a black-andwhite theme. The notable trends picked up included everything oversized including accessories like clutches and bags that were spotted at Rimzim Dadu’s show. While sustainable fashion has always been a highlight during fashion weeks, this time around, it also had a lot to do with functional clothing. Also in focus were several textiles from different parts of the country, which were given a modern interpretation by designers.
