Now, a dustbin that can sense garbage around it
A 22-year-old engineering student has developed a dustbin with built-in sensors that goes off when garbage is thrown around it, compelling passersby to put it in the bin. Inspired by PM Modi’s Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, the developer, Amol Gupta, inducted a sensor to pick up the smell of garbage outside the bin. Named ‘Smart dustbin’, the project, which took five months to complete, makes use of an infrared receiver, buzzer, transistor and a battery.
