SC defers Virbhadra I-T case to July 27
SHIMLA: The Supreme Cour t on Monday defer red the case relating to the Shimla income tax commissioner’s order to transfer cases involving income tax returns filed by Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh and his family members to Chandigarh. The income tax department had earlier moved the Supreme Court in the wake of the Himachal Pradesh High Court’s order. The next hear- ing has been posted to July 27.
Virbhadra , his wife Pratibha, son Vikramaditya and daughter Aprajita along with the caretaker of an apple orchard owned by the chief minister, Anand Chauhan, had challenged the order by the income tax commissioner to transfer the case. The latter had argued a coordinated investigation of all cases could be conducted in Shimla. HTC
