Now, no bags, only ‘joy’ on Saturdays

CHANDIGARH: The Haryana government has decided to observe every Saturday as ‘joyful activity day’ in government schools. Students will not be carrying any books or lbags to schools and instead would participate in extra-curricular activities. Additional chief secretary, school education, PK Das said it will help inculcate moral values in students and motivate them to think creatively and help enhance their personality. He said instead of regular classes, on Saturdays the students would participate in activities such as physical training, games, debate, painting, quiz, drawing and music.
