Gangster Deol in police remand for Nabha jailbreak link

NABHA: An escapee of November’s jailbreak from Nabha, gangster Kulpreet Singh alias Neeta Deol was produced in a local court in another case on Monday. Deol is under judicial custody for cases of murder, jailbreak and dacoity.

Cops claim his involvement in helping gangster Palvinder Singh Pinda escape from jail during a medical checkup at Nabha civil hospital in March 2016, who in return allegedly assisted the jailbreak in November to held six inmates flee.

The police submitted that they found records of phone calls of Deol of those times. The police also want to cross-interrogate gangster Gurpreet Singh Sekhon and Deol. During Sekhon’s interrogation, it was learnt that he had hidden arms and ammunition in Indore. Deol was also re-arrested from Indore. When asked how he could make calls from jail, DSP Jaskeerat Singh said police were investigating the same. The court sent Deol to police remand till February 23. HTC
