Patwari held for graft

FEROZEPUR: State Vigilance Bureau nabbed a patwari redhanded while accepting a ₹7,500 bribe in Jalalabad on Thursday. As per information, Gurdhir Singh, a farmer and resident of village approached Basti Ram, revenue patwari. Basti Ram allegedly demanded ₹7,500 for doing Gurdhir’s work, following which he raised matter with the Vigilance Bureau. A team, led by inspector Satwant Singh, nabbed the accused while accepting the bribe. Basti Ram has accused the bureau of implicating him. He has been booked for corruption.
