BKU protests in Karnal, seeks complete loan waiver

KARNAL: Demanding a complete loan waiver for all the farmers in the state, the Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU) staged a protest in Karnal on Thursday. The farmers accused the BJP-led government at the Centre and state of betrayal and said that the party had not fulfilled its pre-poll promise of implementing the Swaminathan commission recommendations. Led by BKU state president Ratan Mann, the protesting farmers met Karnal deputy commissioner Mandeep Barar and submitted a memorandum demanding a complete loan waiver for all.
