Four of J&K judge’s staff die in car crash

JAMMU: Four staff mem­bers, in­clud­ing two CRPF jawans of a sit­ting judge, jus­tice MK Han­jura, of J&K high court died when their SUV veered off the road and plunged into a 200-me­tre deep gorge near Marog in Ram­ban dis­trict on Fri­day.

The de­ceased were iden­ti­fied as, driver Vinod Ku­mar of Muthi Do­mana in Jammu, cook Hukum Chand of Ram­na­gar in Ud­ham­pur, CRPF jawans Ajeet Singh and Su­nil Ku­mar, both from Ut­tar Pradesh.

While Vinod Ku­mar, Hukum Chand and CRPF jawan Su­nil Ku­mar died in Ram­ban hos­pi­tal, griev­ously in­jured CRPF jawan Ajeet Singh who was air­lifted to Jammu, died en route, said Ram­ban SSP, Mo­han Lal.

Jus­tice Han­jura was not trav­el­ling in the car. The SSP said that SUV Toy­ota For­tuner skid­ded off the road and plunged into a deep gorge. Quick re­ac­tion teams, po­lice SDRF teams and lo­cals car­ried out the res­cue op­er­a­tion, he added.

He said the ve­hi­cle was headed to Jammu from Srinagar. HTC
