Khaira slams govt for setting up revenue panel

Hindustan Times (Jalandhar) - - PUNJAB -

CHANDIGARH : The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Wednesday slammed the Congress government for setting six-member Revenue Commission to make the existing land acts in the state more relevant to the changing land use.

Leader of opposition in Punjab assembly Sukhpal Khaira said the revenue department is already top heavy at the state level and has an army of officers at the divisional and district levels. “They are all trained officers with decades of experience in the field as well as the administrative side. If the CM is concerned, he could set up a committee of serving department or other department officers to achieve the purpose,” Khaira said in a statement.
