27-yr-old dies of drug overdose in Hoshiarpur, two booked for murder
HOSHIARPUR : The district police have booked two persons for murder after 27-year-old Gurmangatpal Singh, a resident of Tanda, died of drug overdose in Tanda on Wednesday.
Father of the deceased Ranjit Singh, who lodged a complaint with the police, said his son had gone with his friends on Tuesday evening but didn’t return home. He said, “On Wednesday morning, we received a call from Gurmangat’s friend Neeta and he informed us that he was lying unconscious.”
He said they took Gurmangat to a private hospital in Hoshiarpur where he was declared brought dead. Ranjit alleged that Neeta, along with a friend, killed his son.
Ajit Singh, assistant sub-inspector (ASI)-cum-investigation officer said on the statement of the deceased’s father, they have registered a case under Section 302 (murder) of the IPC at the Tanda police station.
