Apropos ‘Father arrested for rape after 14-yr-old reveals horror’ (February14), the spurt in sexual abuse crimes is abominable. Sensitivity seems to have faded from the society. Sadly, capital punishment for such crimes won’t serve as a deterrent. With such incidents coming to light, it becomes imperative to reach young minds and inculcate moral values in them. Enforcing stringent laws will be meaningless unless the younger generation is not counselled. And such intervention needs to start right from childhood. Law and moral values must run parallel to each other.
