Blue light to help switch off stress
If you have been under a lot of stress lately, it’ll help to surround yourself with blue light, says a recent study.
Researchers from the University of Granada (UGR), in collaboration with the School for Special Education San Rafael, have proved, by means of an objective evaluation, that blue lighting accelerates relaxation faster than conventional lighting.
The researchers noted that psychosocial stress, which has adverse effects on one’s health, has physiological responses measurable by bio-signals.
For the study, the researchers performed a relaxation session with two groups of six stressed volunteers each within the multisensory stimulation room at the School for Special Education, under two stimuli, that is blue and white lighting.
Bio-signals such as heart rate and brain activity showed that blue lighting accelerated the relaxation process, in comparison to conventional white lighting.
