Hindustan Times (Lucknow) - Live - - TIME OUT -

While author Amish Tripathi’s fans wait for the third book in his Rama Chandra Series — Raavan: Son of Aryavarta, he has decided to come out with an entirely new series — Indic Chronicles, the first book of which will be Suheldev & The Battle of Bahraich.

To be launched on July 16, the book will tell the story of the battle fought by Raja Suheldev of Shravasti in 1025 AD, which drove away the Turks for 170 years. The book will also mark the author’s entry into historical fiction. The story is based on folklores and many characters have been fictionalised, he said.

“The way history is taught to us presents the narrative in a very distorted way. A lot of heroes are air brushed in our history books and there are many more about whom we never read,” he added.

Addressing the delay in the book, he confirmed that it will launch by the end of this year or early next year.

“The story of Raavan is long; his life was difficult and I want to showcase the emotions right.

I had planned with the publishers like this and we are launchin g each book accordin g to schedule, ” Amish said.
