When Kamal met his die-hard fan and made him a gracious offer
Actors obliging fans often lead to heartwarming tales. One such beautiful incident happened when actorpolitician Kamal Haasan met Jayaraj, his die-hard fan who would have never even thought that he would get to meet his idol.
Hailing from Choolaimedu, Chennai, Jayaraj collects old clothes and sells them in a local market, called Moore market to earn his living. In a YouTube video, posted by a Tamil channel, Jayaraj had once spoken about how he looks up to Kamal Haasan as an actor and as a politician. He also admitted that despite his heartfelt desire, he has never got to meet Haasan so far.
According to a source close to Haasan, it was only recently that he watched this video. He was so touched that he decided to meet him. “After watching the video, Haasan sir requested to make arrangements for the fan to come and meet him immediately. Finding Jayaraj wasn’t easy, as he’s always on the move to earn his living and it took us a few days to trace him. The video’s anchor got in touch with Jayaraj’s relatives and then they informed Haasan sir’s digital team,” says the source.
Jayaraj finally met Haasan at his party office on June 8, and was awestruck. “He became teary-eyed when Haasan sir put his hand around his shoulders and spoke to him like a long-lost friend. He also asked Jayaraj if he had food and he replied that he generally has food very late. Haasan sir graciously said,
‘Come here and eat when you feel hungry; this is like your home too,’” adds the source.
Recently, after Kamal Haasan saw a video of a fan expressing his wish to see him, he arranged a meeting with his fan Jayaraj
