Joe Walsh tells his addiction story on gala fundraiser stage
Eagles band member Joe Walsh and his wife, Marjorie Walsh, have been honoured by the non-profit Facing Addiction with NCADD (The National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence) for their support of the recovery movement.
Singer-guitarist Walsh, now almost 70, performed recently at a gala fund-raiser with Vince Gill — who has been touring with the Eagles — and Michael McDonald. Walsh, who has been sober for 25 years, told his story of alcohol and drug dependence, as did his wife when she introduced him to the crowd.
Also attending was Walsh’s brother-in-law, ex-Beatle Ringo Starr. Marjorie Walsh is the sister of Barbara Bach Starkey, Starr’s wife, who uses Ringo’s original last name.
