UP BJP LAWMAKER AMONG 120 LEADERS FROM ASIA INVITED FOR LEADERSHIP MEET

LUCKNOW: Nearly 120 lawmakers and parliament­arians from India as well as other Asian countries would be attending the four-day Internatio­nal Leadership Conference that is being hosted by Nepal from Thursday. Gopal Tandon, the BJP lawmaker from Lucknow is among the leaders attending the conference. He said that the leadership conference is aimed at addressing a “critical issue of our times.” The topic of the conference is: Role of Government­s, Civil Society and Faith Based Organizati­ons. Tandon, who would be leaving for Nepal on Thursday said, “A special session would also be held to launch the Internatio­nal Associatio­n of Parliament­arians for Peace in Asia. Similar programmes would be held in other parts of the world. Universal Peace Federation, an internatio­nal peace organizati­on would be sponsoring the event. The invitation­s to the conference have been sent out by Ek Nath Dhakal, Nepal’s minister for Peace and Reconstruc­tion. Dhakal has been quoted in the invite as saying that the leadership conference would offer innovative approaches to solving critical issues of our times and builds on a similar programme convened in Korea with more than 800 participan­ts from across the globe attending it.
