Seminar on ‘Indian democracy in difficult era’

A seminar on ‘Indian democracy in difficult era’ was organised at BM Shah Auditorium of Bhartendu Natya Akademi as part of Akhilesh Mishra Memorial Oration on Sunday. Professor Prabhat Patnaik of Jawahar Lal Nehru University, while speaking on the occasion said the recent happenings inside the JNU campus were not a healthy sign for a democracy.

“There is a need to raise voice against such powers that are curbing the voice of dissent. The present nationalism is similar to that of Hitler and it is necessary to identify such elements. To oppose such forces one has to set a new agenda,” Patnaik said.
