Sem­i­nar on M­com­merce

LUC­KNOW: A two-day na­tional sem­i­nar ti­tled “M-Com­merce: Strate­gic per­spec­tives and con­cerns in the emerg­ing cash­less economies” or­gan­ised by the com­merce depart­ment of Avadh Girls PG Col­lege be­gan on Satur­day. U Chaturvedi, prin­ci­pal of the col­lege, marked the open­ing of the sem­i­nar by wel­com­ing the chief guest Neil Jain, IRS, ad­di­tional com­mis­sioner, in­come tax, key­note speak­ers Shailesh Chaturvedi (man­ag­ing di­rec­tor and CEO Tommy Hil­figer, In­dia) and An­jit Anand (prod­uct head mo­bil­ity DCB Bank Ltd). The sem­i­nar started with the light­ing of the lamp by prin­ci­pal and all the dig­ni­taries present. The first key­note speaker Neil Jain fo­cused on the chal­lenges of M-Com­merce namely mak­ing users smart phone ready, cy­ber se­cu­rity and men­tioned that the gov­ern­ment is very much ready on mo­bile com­merce. Shailesh Chaturvedi em­pha­sised that the technology is tak­ing the world move for­ward and peo­ple are slowly be­com­ing text savvy. The fo­cus should be on the con­sumer and the technology should be cus­tomer friendly as it keeps on chang­ing. An­jit Anand men­tioned about the in­no­va­tive meth­ods used by banks to deal with M-com­merce se­cu­rity and was in the favour that dig­i­tal pay­ments were much safer but we have to be care­ful in case of or­gan­ised frauds.
