En­vi­ron­ment pro­tec­tion drive sum­mits un­der Surya Com­mand

LUC­KNOW: As part of PM’s call towards Swachh Bharat Mis­sion, Surya Com­mand is par­tic­i­pat­ing in the na­tional cause towards cre­at­ing aware­ness on en­vi­ron­men­tal pro­tec­tion and clean­li­ness in the spirit of ‘Jan An­dolan’ from Sun­day to Oc­to­ber 2.

Surya Com­mand will be flag­ging off spe­cial teams from re­mote for­ward lo­ca­tions in Ut­tarak­hand on Sun­day. The teams will con­tact veter­ans and lo­cal vil­lagers in the re­mote moun­tain­ous ar­eas and spread aware­ness about en­vi­ron­ment degra­da­tion and ac­tions needed towards preser­va­tion of the nat­u­ral won­ders of Ut­tarak­hand.

A clean­li­ness drive along routes lead­ing to im­por­tant re­li­gious shrines of Kedar­nath, Badri­nath, Kailash Mansarovar, Hemkund Sahib will be un­der­taken by mo­bil­is­ing and mo­ti­vat­ing lo­cal vil­lagers and tourists by these teams.

In ad­di­tion, spe­cial pa­trols would un­der­take en­vi­ron­men­tal pro­tec­tion and cleans­ing ac­tiv­ity in the high al­ti­tude ar­eas of Gan­gotri, Yam­notri, Pin­dari Glacier and Mount Kamet Base to re­store these ar­eas to their pris­tine beauty by re­mov­ing pol­lu­tants left over by pre­vi­ous moun­taineer­ing ex­pe­di­tions.
