Body of missing youth found, murder suspected
LUCKNOW: The body of a 25-yearold youth, who was missing since Wednesday, was found alongside a residential apartment near Katautha Lake in Chinhat area here on Thursday evening.
The police suspects that the youth was murdered as the injuries on his face and head clearly suggest that he was attacked with a sharp edged weapon. The initial probe reveals that the murder could be an outcome of his illicit relation but further investigations are on in the matter.
The deceased, Monu Pal, was resident of a slum near Amity University campus. On Wednesday, he told his wife Sunita that he would return in a while and left the house.
When he did not return for over 15 hours, his brother Sonu Pal lodged a complaint of his mysterious disappearance on Thursday morning. Sonu ascertained his brother’s identity after police informed him about recovery of a man’s body on Thursday evening.
Inspector of Chinhat police station RN Rai suspected it to be a murder as the injuries on the victim’s body clearly suggest that he was attacked with a sharp edged weapon.
However, the body was sent for post-mortem examination to ascertain the exact cause of death, said Rai. A probe was on in the case and police were also scanning Monu’s mobile details, he added.
