Student foils abduction bid, awarded

RAE BARELI: A student foiled an abduction bid of a peer. Police felicitated Shubham Shukla for his timely call that helped them save the victim Arpit, a class 10 student of SJS Public School. The incident took place on Thursday morning when the students were going to school. Arpit’s bicycle grazed a Swift car. The youths sitting in the car came out and thrashed Arpit after which they dragged him into their vehicle and drove away. Shivam, who was watching the entire incident some distance away, immediately called up the police and told them about it. He also gave details about the car and its number plate. Police swung into action and chased the car following which the miscreants left the boy on the roadside and fled. Police also found the abandoned Swift car some distance away. SP Shiv Hari Meena called Shivam to his office and gave him ₹ 1100 as reward.
