Dalit man found killed in Hathras, second murder within 15 days
HATHRAS: Body of a 32-year-old dalit man was recovered from the field of Seth Phool Chand Bagla College here early on Wednesday morning, police said.
Bricks with blood stains were found at the site, which indicated that the youth was killed after being attacked with bricks.
The deceased was identified as Amit Singh alias Pinku, resident of Khandari Garhi area here. He was a daily wage whitewasher. On Wednesday morning, some locals spotted Pinku’s body in the field of Bagla College when they went to answer nature’s call.
They informed Pinku’s family and police. Cops had to face resistance from the deceased’s family while taking the body for a postmortem examination.
Later, on the assurance of the superintendent of police (SP) of Hathras to arrest the accused at the earliest, Pinku’s kin allowed the cops to take his body.
A dog squad and a forensic team were called on the spot and the SP and the ASP initiated a probe in the case.
In his complaint, Pinku’s brother Rohtas said, “Pinku left the house telling his wife Rajni that he was going to purchase peanuts.
He met me in the market and said some people were trying to kill him but would not be able to execute their plans.”
He added, “On Tuesday night, two locals saw Pinku with Noor Nabi and two other unidentified persons.
When he did not return, we started looking for him, but he was nowhere to be found. The next morning, some people told us about the recovery of his body from the field of Bagla College.”
Rohtas accused Noor Nabi and his two unidentified accomplices of killing Pinku. SP Hathras Ghule Sushil Chandrabhan said that on the basis of complaint lodged by Pinku’s family, an FIR was registered in the case.
Tension gripped Khandari Garhi area after the incident as this was second murder of a dalit man within 15 days.
On January 31, Amit Kumar Gautam of the same area was found murdered over personal enmity. The named accused in Gautam’s murder has been arrested.
As a precautionary measure, police has been deployed in the area. Several local politicians reached the autopsy house to console Pinku’s family. No arrest was made in the case till the last reports came in.
