Seven killed, 35 hurt in bus­truck col­li­sion

RAE BARELI: Seven peo­ple were killed and 35 in­jured when a bus col­lided with a pick-up truck near NTPC Un­cha­har power plant in Rae Bareli on Satur­day. CM Yogi Adityanath has an­nounced ex gra­tia for ₹2 lakh each for the next of kin of the de­ceased and ₹ 50,000 for the in­jured.

RAE BARELI Seven peo­ple were killed and 35 in­jured when a pri­vate bus col­lided with a pick-up truck near the NTPC Un­cha­har power plant in Rae Bareli dis­trict around 5.30pm on Satur­day, po­lice said.

Chief min­is­ter Yogi Adityanath has ex­pressed grief at the loss of lives and an­nounced ex gra­tia for Rs 2 lakh each for the next of kin of the de­ceased and Rs 50,000 for the in­jured in the ac­ci­dent at Rae Bareli.

Su­per­in­ten­dent of po­lice Su­jata Singh con­firmed seven deaths in the ac­ci­dent. Dal­mau cir­cle of­fi­cer Vi­neet Singh said five of the seven dead were iden­ti­fied as Ram­rati (78), Usha Kam­lesh, 35, Par­vati Rati­pal, 50, Ban­shi Lal, 35, and Ankit Sonkar, 25. pickup truck. The in­jured were ad­mit­ted to the NTPC hospi­tal and the Rae Bareli dis­trict hospi­tal. For­mer UP min­is­ter and sit­ting Un­cha­har MLA Manoj Ku­mar Pande (Sa­ma­jwadi Party) rushed to the ac­ci­dent site.
