Al­la­habad to be named Praya­graj soon, prom­ises chief min­is­ter

AL­LA­HABAD: : The first meet­ing of Kumbh Margdar­shak Man­dal was held un­der the chair­man­ship of UP gov­er­nor Ram Naik, here at Cir­cuit House, on Satur­day.

The meet­ing was at­tended by UP CM Yogi Adityanath, chief jus­tice of Al­la­habad High Court DB Bhos­ale, Akhil Bharatiya Akhara Parishad (ABAP) pres­i­dent Swami Naren­dra­giri, sev­eral cabi­net min­is­ters, saints as well as se­nior of­fi­cials en­trusted with the task of Kumbh prepa­ra­tions. Af­ter the meet­ing, UP CM Yogi Adidtyanath, while brief­ing news­men said that on the long­pend­ing de­mand of saints and of­fice-bear­ers of ABAP, the name of Al­la­habad will be changed to Praya­graj soon.

He said that of the 445 de­vel­op­ment projects launched as part of prepa­ra­tions for Kumbh 2019 in Al­la­habad, work on 92 projects had been com­pleted, while work on 88 projects will be com­pleted by Oc­to­ber 15 to 20. Work on 250 projects is ex­pected to be com­pleted by Oc­to­ber 31, on 52 projects till Novem­ber 15 while the re­main­ing 61 de­vel­op­ment works will be com­pleted by Dec 31.
