Allahabad to be named Prayagraj soon, promises chief minister
ALLAHABAD: : The first meeting of Kumbh Margdarshak Mandal was held under the chairmanship of UP governor Ram Naik, here at Circuit House, on Saturday.
The meeting was attended by UP CM Yogi Adityanath, chief justice of Allahabad High Court DB Bhosale, Akhil Bharatiya Akhara Parishad (ABAP) president Swami Narendragiri, several cabinet ministers, saints as well as senior officials entrusted with the task of Kumbh preparations. After the meeting, UP CM Yogi Adidtyanath, while briefing newsmen said that on the longpending demand of saints and office-bearers of ABAP, the name of Allahabad will be changed to Prayagraj soon.
He said that of the 445 development projects launched as part of preparations for Kumbh 2019 in Allahabad, work on 92 projects had been completed, while work on 88 projects will be completed by October 15 to 20. Work on 250 projects is expected to be completed by October 31, on 52 projects till November 15 while the remaining 61 development works will be completed by Dec 31.
