SIT TO PROBE TRAGEDY

LUCKNOW: The state government on Sunday constituted a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe into the twin hooch tragedy in Kushinagar and Saharanpur. The SIT has been directed to submit its report within 10 days. Principal secretary, Home, Arvind Kumar said a five-member SIT had been constituted to probe the tragedies.

They are Sanjay Singhal, ADG, Railway, Amit Gupta, divisional commissioner, Gorakhpur, Jai Narain Singh, IGP, Gorakhpur range, Chandra Prakash Tripathi, divisional commissioner, Saharanpur division, and Sharad Sachan, IGP, Saharanpur Range. Kumar said the role of the administrative, police and excise officers will be reviewed.
