Verizon nearing deal to acquire Yahoo’s core biz

NEWYORK: Verizon is the lead bidder to acquire Yahoo Inc’s core business, Bloomberg reported on Friday. An announcement may come in the next few days, Bloomberg said. Verizon and Yahoo were not immediately available to comment.
