Ahead of Diwali, Haryana govt staffers face salary delays
: Haryana government’s decision to distribute salaries to its employees only after they upload their details on a human resource portal could not have come at a worse time for those whose Diwali celebrations are at stake sans September pay.
Barely a week left for the festival, thousands of employees across the state who failed to upload their details on the Human Resource Management System (HRMS) due to technical snags on the portal and poor infrastructure in government schools and offices are yet to receive their salaries.
The Haryana government had made it mandatory for employees working in departments of education, police, judicial and six divisions to upload details on the portal by September 30.
The move is likely to affect employees of all departments, especially education, which has maximum strength and sluggish infrastructure.
Facing backlash, the government had recently decided to relax mandate for this month, but employees said it will take a couple of more days before they get their salaries. “Due to recent transfer of teaching staff, details

Another school head in Rohtak, Saroj Devi, claimed that teachers in her school have become anxious regarding Diwali celebrations. “We tried uploading their details. But the server is so slow that it takes an hour to fill details, which can be done within five minutes,” she said.
