PROTESTERS SAY THE SQUAD RAIDED NEARLY 150 RMPS’ CLINICS IN THE STATE; SAY ACTION NEEDED AGAINST QUACKS NOT THEM

HISAR : Upset over the crackdown by the CM flying squad on illegal medical practice by quacks, registered medical practitioners (RMPs) on Monday took out a protest march against the Haryana government in Sirsa.

Protesting under the banner of the Anubhavi Chikitsa Sewa Sangathan, Haryana, the RMPs shouted slogans against the CM flying squad with Congress leader from Sirsa Hoshiyari Lal Sharma supporting them.

Sangathan state president LC Sharma said, “We came to know that the Haryana government decided launch a crackdown on quacks. But there is a difference between an RMP and a quack. The government must understand the difference.”

He said when MBBS and BMS doctors do not visit villages for treatment, the RMPs provides first-aid to the patients.

Hoshiyari Lal Sharma said the RMPs follow legal procedure. “The CM flying squad raided nearly 150 RMPs’ clinics in the state, which is wrong. They should take action against quacks not RMPs,” he said.

The RMPs also handed over a memorandum to city magistrate Surender Kumar addressed to chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar and health minister Anil Vij and demanded that no action be taken against them.
