GOVT TO CONSTRUCT 25 HELIPADS
Chief minister Jai Ram Thakur here said the state government is contemplating construction of helipads at 25 selected places in remote areas for safe passage at times of need.
Thakur said the state has untapped potential for tourism and scope for generation of jobs for the youth at its doorstep. Moreover, with the help of air facilities, tourists could be invited to the hill state.
He stated that the development of helipads would help saving time, provide easy access to remotest destinations and help in environment conservation.
It would be cheaper and a source of revenue generation too, he added.
He said the decision would increase influx of quality tourist and give them more reasons to explore the marvels of the state. With initiation of helitaxi in the state, it would also be easier to start heliambulance service as well, he added.
