Helicopter­s will soon fly you to tourist hubs in Himachal

PAWAN HANS CHOPPERS WILL FLY FROM KASAULI TO SHIMLA, MANALI TO KULLU, AMONG OTHER TOURIST DESTINATIO­NS

SHIMLA: Himachal’s major tourist destinatio­ns, including Solan, Shimla, Mandi, Kullu and Kangra, will be soon be connected by heli-services under Centre’s UDAN (Ude Desh ka Aam Naagrik) scheme.

The helicopter services will be provided by Pawan Hans from Kasauli to Shimla; Manali to Kullu; Mandi to Dharamshal­a, Kullu and Shimla; Nathpa Jhakri to Rampur; Rampur to Nathpa Jhakri and Shimla besides Shimla to Kasauli, Mandi and Rampur.

Other prominent routes — Chandigarh-Kasauli and Chandigarh-Shimla — were included in the second round of bidding for the regional connectivi­ty scheme (RCS).

This was informed by Union minister of state for civil aviation Jayant Sinha in a written reply to a question raised by Shimla MP Virender Kashyap.

Sinha said 11 seats under RCS have been reserved in each flight and the operating airlines were permitted to undertake three flights in a week.

He said Deccan Airlines has already being operating between Kullu and Delhi, besides Alliance Air to New Delhi and Shimla with seven flights per week having nine RCS seats under the first round of the Udan scheme.
