LINKING VEHICLE DATA WITH AADHAAR

The ministry of home affairs (MHA)’s proposal to link vehicle registration numbers with Aadhaar is laudable. We hope that the proposal will be passed and implemented by the central and state governments. The move is aimed at checking militant attacks on highways, reducing crimes such as robberies and attacks on women besides road accidents. It can also help in tracing vehicles in hit-and-run cases. The law should be put into force as soon as possible since it could prove beneficial to the citizenry.
